NO DINOSAURS HERE
Every issue tells a story, and this one is no diferent. Te story of this issue is that it is our last—
or at least the last as we know it.
Starting in July, we will be shifting our publishing resources to web-driven media and special
print supplements issued with our partner publications. What that means is this: We’ll still
publish the same great columnists (Jessica, Naomi, Rachel, and Reese), in-depth features
Just as every company in the dental industry must follow the market, so must
Apex360. Our market is you—the audience—and you are moving away from digital
magazines in favor of shareable content. Digital magazine articles aren’t easy to
share, which means they are going the way of the dinosaurs.
But instead of turning into fossils, Apex360 is transforming—just like those
dinosaurs who had the good sense to evolve into birds. It’s an exciting transition,
and we’re ready to take fight.
One thing that will be lost, however, is the frequency at which you'll see the work
of Editorial Art Director Chad Wimmer. If you’ve been paying attention these past
few years, you’ve seen the design quality of the magazine take of and launch into
planetary orbit. Tat’s due 1,000% to the undisputed genius of Chad’s artistic gifts, which awe
my colleagues and me on a weekly basis. Chad, your creativity, reliability, and humility are rare
to see in any one professional. We appreciate your dedication and loyalty to our editorial vision
more than you could imagine.
All right, enough of the blubbering. Let’s get down to business. We have a fantastic issue for
you. It rivals some of the best works by the American intelligentsia of our generation—and
that includes Sharknado 4. Apex360 Editorial Advisory Board member Jen McGuire dives deep
into the data and sheds light on the last decade of dental. Not to be outdone, Rachel Mele’s
mental foss dissects data on what dentists and dental ofce members want from their sales
reps. I kick in contributions on the Solea laser revolution, the inspirational story of Angie Stone
and HyLife, and an update on the German dental tech coming to the Greater New York Dental
Meeting (GNYDM) this fall. Reese Harper compares you to James Bond; Bethany Piziks shows
you the magic of equine therapy; and GNYDM Executive Director Dr. Robert Edwab takes you
on a tour of trade shows from São Paulo to Santo Domingo to Singapore—no passport required.
